The unassuming façade of Ainster House gives the briefest glimpse of what lies beyond the carefully restored coach doors and glass screen.

Entering the house, you’re welcomed and surprised by views of Anstruther harbour from every angle. Two outdoor terraces offer the opportunity to enjoy stunning views over the nearby beach, Dreel river and the harbour that embrace all the elements that the changing seasons have to offer.

‘As soon as I entered the house the design, layout and attention to detail was seductive yet homely. I loved sitting on the decking watching the sea birds whilst enjoying a cup of tea. The entire space both inside and out has been carefully thought through out and executed to create a peaceful and tranquil space. Local shops have some lovely, unusual pieces, we absolutely love ‘Fifi at Home’, food at The Dreel Tavern is good, as is the ‘Wee Chippy’ to sit in, as is ‘The Anstruther Fish bar’. The bar for AirBnB’s has now been set – and who knows if any will match up to this standard. Thank you for letting us enjoy your space – it is truly wonderful and I cannot wait to come back.’

‘A wonderfully designed house in a beautiful location. Lots of great touches and a really enjoyable space. Ross and Lindsay were great hosts and the house manual is full of tips for local places to visit.
